Polarographic determination of O,O-diethyl O-p-nitrophenyl thiophosphate and O-ethyl di(O-p-nitrophenyl) thiophosphate in technical parathion

Abstract: In the detn. of O,O-diethyl O-p-nitrophenylthiophosphate (I), O-ethyl di(O-p-nitrophenyl)thiophosphate (II) interferes because its wave coincides with that of I. Dissolve the sample in EtOH satd. with II, and correct the increase in height of the wave caused by II by subtracting the height of the electrolyte contg. an aliquot part of EtOH satd. with II in the form of an additive const. The electrolyte is composed of 10 ml. of 88% aq. EtOH in 0.01N HCl satd. at room temp. with KCl, plus 2 ml. of 96% EtOH.
