Distinguishing the water of crystallization from that chemically bound in some organic compounds

Abstract: By the osmometric method with a rush membrane, 2HO groups in 1 mol. of caffeine, theophylline, succinimide, parabanic acid, and betaine have been found, but not in the mol. of dimethylhydantoin.
