Abstract: cf. C.A. 52, 10052g. The synthesis of (±)-laudanosine, m. 115°, as picrate, m. 177-8°, in good yield, from papaverine by the catalytic hydrogenation in abs. MeOH and by applying freshly prepd. Raney Ni at 150° and at initial pressure of 150 atm. is described.
