Preparation of 6- and 6-deoxylactose

Abstract:  The preparation of 6-deoxylactose from methyl 2,2',3,3'-tetra-0-acetyl-4',6'-0-benzylidene-6-0-methanesulfonyl-β-lactoside as well as the preparation of 6'-deoxylactose from 1,6-anhydro-β-lactose is described.
