Adsorption equilibriums of carbon disulfide on active carbon. III. Application of Langmuir's theory and Brunauer, Emmett, and Teller's theory

Abstract: Adsorption isotherms of CS₂ and benzene on Supersorbon were detd. according to L.'s theory (CA 26, 4993) and according to the B.E.T. theory (CA 32, 40379; B. and E., CA 32, 11593; E. and B., CA 31, 73225). Study of these equations indicates that the sp. surface area of the active carbon calcd. according to L. and to B.E.T. has only a relative value indicating approx. quality of products of similar structure. In more-used practice, a method of Dubinin (Forschungen auf dem Gebiet der Adsorption von Gasen und D.ovrddot.ampfen durch Kohlenstoffadsorbenten, Moscow, 1956) is recommended.
