Quantitative determination of iso.ovrddot.oleic acid during hydrogenation of sunflower-seed oil by paper chromatography. II. Radiometric evaluation with I131

Abstract: cf. CA 55, 15963c. Detn. of iso.ovrddot.oleic acid (I) by paper chromatography followed by a quant. evaluation of chromatograms with I131 is described. I was formed during hydrogenation under lab. conditions by selective and nonselective hydrogenation of sunflower seed oil. The results compared favorably with the quant. detn. with the microphotometer and Twitschel's Pb salt method. The error is ±5.8%.
