Origin of the hypotensive effect of Achillea millefolium

Abstract: In A. millefolium (I) collected in 1954 in Ponitr´i, no achillein or any other alkaloid or glyco-alkaloid was found. The only substance having a hypotensive effect was choline, amounting to 0.025% based on the dry I.
