Thin layer chromatography of inorganic ions. Part VIII. Chromatography in the system: cellulose phosphate-aqueous solutions of organic complexing agents

Abstract:  Chromatographie behaviour of 24 metal ions on thin layers of cellulose phosphate using the solutions of complex-forming agents as the eluents has been investigated. The results are plotted as a function of the Rf values against logarithm of complexing agent concentration (0.005—0.5 M-Na₂IDA and Na₂NTA; 0.001—0.2 M-Na₂EDTA) and confirm that the chromatographic behaviour of the studied metal ions is the result of ion exchange and complex-forming equilibria. The paper is concluded with tabulated examples for analytical separations.
