Synthesis and thermogravimetric investigation of mixed ligand chlorotitanium(III) complexes containing tetrahydrofuran and acetonitrile

Abstract: The mixed-ligand chlorotitanium(III) complexes [TiCl₃(MeCN)₃-n(THF)n (n = 1,2)] were prepd. using TiCl₃(THF)₂, TiCl₃(THF), and TiCl₃(MeCN) as the reactants. The synthesized complexes were studied thermogravimetrically and the mechanism of their thermal decompn. is discussed on the basis of gas chromatog. and IR and electronic spectral data.
