Determination of uranium using instrumental activation analysis in the biogeochemical study of metallogenic regions

Abstract:  The method for determination of uranium in plant samples by means of instrumental activation analysis was worked out. The samples were irradiated in a reactor by epithermal neutrons. The y-radiation (energy 74.7 keV) of radionuclide ²³⁹U formed by irradiation was measured. Accuracy of the analysis expressed as standard deviation ranged within 2 — 8% for the concentration range 0.5 — 30 p.p.m.
