Thermal analysis of cesium zinc vanadates

Abstract: The thermal decompn. of Cs₂Zn(VO₃)₄.2.5H₂O (I) and Cs₂Zn₂V₁₀O₂₈.14H₂O (II) were studied. The products were characterized by x-ray phase anal. and IR spectroscopy. Some structural changes and partial redn. of V(V) took place after dehydration of I. Redn. was also obsd. with II, which decompd. at higher temps. to give a mixt. of Cs₂V₆O₁₆ and Zn(VO₃)₂.
